About USA Time

USA Time is a free reference for the current time across every US time zone, state, and city. It exists because the United States' time zone map is more complicated than most people realize — fourteen states are split between two zones, two states skip daylight saving entirely, and five territories run on their own fixed offsets year-round.

Every time shown on this site is computed live from the IANA time zone database, the same open dataset used by browsers, phones, and servers worldwide to track time zones and daylight saving rules correctly. We don't maintain our own time data — we read directly from that database so our numbers stay accurate through every daylight saving transition without manual updates.

Alongside the reference pages, USA Time includes a set of free browser tools — an alarm clock, timers, a stopwatch, a time zone converter, and a meeting planner — built to work entirely in your browser with no account or download required.

See our methodology page for more detail on how times and daylight saving dates are calculated.
